Meet Elizabeth

The woman behind AS Robins

I am very proud to say that AS Robins now looks after 1000+ companies a year and hires a diverse workforce priding itself in supporting flexible working and work/life balance.

I personally pride myself on supporting other women in the industry and I developed my alter ego, ‘The Payroll Queen’, to do more of that. I have nearly 8k followers on Instagram and I use my page to share inspirational quotes, imagery, and details about events I attend including networking, awards ceremonies, and payroll-dedicated meets. It is very pro-women which I am hugely proud of and I hope to use it as more of a hub moving forward.

AS Robins was established more than 20 years ago as a sole trader business by Liz Robins.  Now, having partnered with Adler Shine in 2010, AS Robins is a thriving payroll and HR solutions provider with a team of payroll professionals and an HR consultant with in excess of 25 years top flight industry expertise.

I left school at 16 and excelled as one of the youngest chefs in London working in restaurants including The Savoy (where I am still proud to say that head chef Anton Edelmann called me ‘one to watch’.) This was a truly valuable experience as it taught me immense discipline and drive that have served me so well in the rest of my career.

Upon starting a family, I decided to change paths, trained in payroll, and branched out on my own to start my own business and have not looked back. I had always been talented in this area, both accurate and numerate and, vitally, I truly enjoyed the work.  I also wanted to bring a female name to the fore in this very male-led industry.
